We're with BT for 'phone, B/band and some limited TV services. I'd looked at last quarters Bill and thought it was a bit steep so I rang them earlier had a bit of a moan and said that as we were out of contract I was going to see what the competition was offering.
After a bit of toing and froing I came away with an extra 25 TV Channels for free and a £10 overall monthly reduction on rental fees for agreeing to a new 12 month contract, no problem with that, we're quite happy with them.
Just goes to show...

I've done that with Virgin - got a free TiVo box and a reduction in rental.

That's what we do every year, we always get a good deal, on broadband and land line. Hubby always researches competition so he has figures to quote at them. Same with Electric Company and mobile phone contract.

As you say nothing to lose, but they have if you go elsewhere.

Well worth the effort imo, just had an email to confirm it,
so happy bunny now.
Yes you got to fight the ***, I do it every 9 months, and 3 month ago got free broadband for 2 years with Sky.
Thing is, you shouldn`t have to fight to get a good deal. The good deal should be available to everyone. I have had that issue with house insurance. I have found better deals on comparison websites and when I phone the insurers to tell tham that I am terminating my contract, they give me a better price. I tell them that they should have given me a better price in the first place and then I wouldn`t have left. It`s like there is a two tier system - one price for people who complain and another price for people who just pay up.
I phoned sky for multi room and ended up getting free broadband for a year, only had to pay for delivery of router and twenty percent off my sky bill for a year.
I'm with you there 237. Loyalty isn't valued these days, existing customers simply abused. Just causes hassle for all.
