I've found a few websites saying this, but that doesn't mean they're right, they may just be cutting and pasting each other.

When the same question was asked 10 years ago here, the conclusion was that there is no branch using that code:

However it may be that Barclays use that code for a particular purpose, unrelated to any particular branch's activities, so it might still be genuine.

Not all sort codes are published. Each Bank has always had a small set of sort codes allocated to Head Office Collection Accounts, mainly used for customers like Utility Companies. Their transactions are collected there and then allocated to the account. Going back to when was a junior we had the Gas Company and each morning hundreds of credits would arrive in the Head Office Bag, all has been processed for us and the Company collected them, all now computerised.

More recently on line accounts which are not allocated to a branch need a sort code, so it could be one of these.

'm not sure that the info would help you much anyway. My sort code is the same as my son's and he lives several hundred miles away. The processing is done centrally. I'm wondering whether the info would tell you anything. Can i ask why you're asking?

Hi have had a customer that is saying she has never received these cheques now they are going back a few years and the customer has Alzheimer's and cannot remember her son has contacted his mums bank and they are saying she has not cashed the cheques but are bank says we have im just trying to get to the bottom of it really.
I think I may have to phone the police.

And is 20-99-11 the branch at which the cheque was cashed or the the sort code of the branch it was paid into?

If you meant to say OUR bank then I think you are saying your cheques have been cashed and the money has gone from your accounts but your customer's bank is saying they didn't cash them
