This should perhaps be in Travel; however, there is more activity here. A friend of mine is the deputy editor of a Toronto newspaper and is going on an all expense one week visit to promote Scottish business tourism in Canada. He says he hasn't got the full itinerary yet, but he will be based at Glen eagles. I know it's in Perthshire, but what are the largest cities/towns nearby?

Don't underestimate Dundee....Scotland's fourth largest city and, as ukbod said, 27 miles away.
If you friend's trip were to be in a couple of your's time, Dundee would have its own V&A museum built.....sadly just now there are roadworks and a building site.
It does, however, have the Discovery which took Scott to the Antarctic, an excellent Art Gallery (the MacManus), a science museum (Sensation), Dundee Contemporary Art Gallery, an excellent theatre (Dundee Rep) and a very interesting industrial museum (Verdant Works).
And you can climb up the Law for a beautiful view up the Tay and across to Fife.

I got my last dog from Brown Street Kennels - 5 year old un-castrated cross Lab/German Shepherd.

He was so handsome. He loved me and me close family and friends - every one else was to be killed. I had him for 9 years and had mellowed a little by them.

As a non-Scot I've dared myself to join this thread!

What will encourage Canadians to book a holiday in Scotland? It is most likely to be the golf first, and Edinburgh second. The rest is added value but a visit to St Andrews in Fife is an absolute must Stuey's friend. Whether you play golf yourself or not, its a beautiful course with the 18th green right in the centre of town. Visit the museum of golf too.
