I don't like climbing step ladders to trim privet hedges. Would these be OK?

I did have one like this from Aldi...... no hedges now so I gave it away... but it was very versatile....x

They look like "loppers" (for individual branches) rather than shears - it could take a very long time to prune a privet hedge with them I think.
Sandy....I have one of those....don't know the make....and it's fantastic for high branches in trees and large bushes.....but I couldn't do a privet hedge with it....it's for individual branches and would be at the wrong angle.

An extending hedge trimmer perhaps?...x

Thanks for that, Dave. One twig at a time would test even my patience.

That's the very thing, Gness.
Coming to Aldi this Thursday, Sandy - but I have a feeling that Aldi aren't in Norn Iron?

There's one in Church Lane in the centre of Belfast.
I was looking at this but the one you suggested would save me a score.

Welcome, Sandy...and thank you....

That's a bit posher and more expensive than the one I had, Dave....but it looks cracking!
I have got a gtech rechargeable one that is the bees knees.
