Trivial Theft
I gave permission for someone to enter my property to remove items from the loft (nothiing else), they obtained the the key via the letting agency and solicitor dealing with the case. You can guess what happened! They went through my cupboards and have taken a foreign newspaper that was special to me, nothing else has been taken, rather strange I know. What is my legal positition? The solicitor will not give me details of the company/person responsible, I feel it's a bit trivial to go to the police, what do you think, CAB, solicitor, ?

Don't know what your position is though but doubt the police would be interested. Rather looks like your word against the other person - can you prove without a shadow of a doubt that the newspaper was there in the first place?
