My Dad once visited my grandfather and as he left he told him he was going home to watch "Match of the Day". (This was in the days when MotD was on late Saturday evening and they showed just one match, the identity of which was not announced until after the matches had kicked off at 3pm). My Dad knew it was Tottenham (the team both he and my Grandfather followed) being broadcast.
