can any one tell me what impact the vikings had on english language? i know everyone who's name ends in '-son' probably has viking ansestors but what else is there?

Hi, As an addition to the links provided, you will find that the English language was only affected in the north of England. Anywhere roughly south of Watford was not invaded by the Vikings and so the language there wasnot affected by the Vikings. This is why place names are different in the North than the South of England.
