I understand that, should the Labour Party (with Jeremy Corbyn as leader), win the next election they would withdraw from NATO
What would the reasons and consequences of this be?
It gives them the freedom to rely on others to uphold the responsibility of acting when needed. One may not agree with every decision but it's necessary to be part of such a force, or else become a freeloader country.
Yes Jeremy Corbyn is anti NATO which makes him totally unsuited to leading the Labour Party
Mind you there's a difference between spouting that Britain should leave NATO from the cosy back benches and actually taking the country out of the organisation
That isn't going to happen
France WAS in NATO jno. But they had this thing about not being a full military participant. As OG says, not really a credible or honourable position. You're either in or your out
