Its the John Watson Orchestra, with Bernstein gala evening. Its West Side Story at the moment, for those that are interested.

But why are not more of these Proms televised ? This would make for some smashing Saturday evening, instead of the same old dross.

Perhaps it was filmed and they will show it at a later date ? Lets hope so !

If the BBC want to televise a Prom they'll have to pay the orchestra and soloists far more for the TV rights than they already do for the radio rights.

Every Prom is transmitted live on Radio 3, so you've no real excuse for missing any of them!

For Watson above, please read Wilson ( ! )
Must confess that I had intended to listen, but ended up watching England match, which was in fact tedious. Apart that is, from the fact that I had a little punt on pie face Rooney for first goal and England to win 6-0. That is what the I player is for . Love Bernstein even got his music in my ITunes library.
