No!
Don't be silly
no - and won't be a world record, just an English record
I think he should get a smelly fish

I think it was a bit nasty substituting him so denying him a chance to beat the record...
or is it more fitting that the record should be set at Wembley rather than a local park pitch in downtown San Marino?
Wembley would be better but I don't think all Charlton's goals were in high class games.
So do I craft... also wanted him to form a partnership with Sir Harry Kane ;-)
If England are actually going to go for it next Summer.

OP, no way he'll beat Sir Bobby Charlton's record... so need to be charitable.
I don't think penalties should count when comparing how many goals someone scores.
He's the most overrated player in English football, he only scores against lower teams, the only record he's beat of Sir Bobs is granny shagging
Hopkirk, Yes they should as an Englishman you know how shabby they are at taking penalties, ask the Germans. Why stop there why not compare open play good goals with tap-ins etc...

As for being overrated and not being bias here being a United supporter but the simple fact is he's the best we have to offer, world class no I agree.
He was bloody awful...once again.
Rooney has always played with a *** England side.
Charlton and Linneker played in good England sides.

Yes, he will go down as the highest scorer of goals in Internationals for England.
Totally agree sqad, who was the best player Talbot? I'm not looking through rose tinted glasses but he played better than most maybe your expectations are too high.
Strange as it seems (winning 6-0) England were not good.
Theo Walcott played well when he came on.
Rooney has always played with a *** England side.

That will be the same England team that were much hyped as the
'Golden Generation' will it, sqad?

Can't disagree with his first touch (I think) bang in the net. He did play well... side stepping from Rooney here but the trouble I find with Hodgson he is simply not a tactition as with previous managers that we've had since Venables. Although a bit mad Hoddle did well with Owen/Shearer swapping places down the right flank and striker against the Argies after Beckhams dismissal.
