I do that when I'm on the phone, especially if it's a boring convo!

but why ?
I really don't know. I also start cleaning stuff when I'm on the phone.
I cant talk to people who phone me if I am walking down the street, I have to be sat somewhere ! cant concentrate if walking along & bump into things.
Remember the mother in the tv comedy Bread she always stood up from the table to answer her phone.
Why don't you just ask him to sit down? None of my business, but why are you on AB if you are at work?
Maybe he's on a break!!! Maybe he's allowed!!
I think it has something to do with... the caller for eg. You can't see their body language or facial expressions... I do it myself but not thought about it until now.

Ummm, cleaning stuff you must have some really lovely and interesting friends.
OK ummmm - are you now Bazile's spokesperson?
I have not yet met one man who can stand still and have a telephone conversation! It drives me mad, women don't seem to do it.
We're not good at multitasking.
If he is talking to various people, he is probably frustrated at being passed around to get to the person/department he needs to speak to. When I'm in that situation, or am on hold for lengths of time (was in this position early this morning), I tend to go for walkabouts as it saves me swearing at the phone
Maggie - No, I'm not his spokesperson and you're not his boss!
Arksided...AC explained it well.
AlwaysConfused, Although a different situation and I don't curse and swear often but my phone has suffered more verbal abuse than any person I've ever met when put on hold.
We had a guy like that at my last job. Every time he got a call, he paced the office on his phone!! Weird.
You'll certainly never see an iron-rigger do this when he's at work.
