I have just been turned down by a loan company, they said i was one point off as i only had 224 points. They also said i needed 225 (1point off).what is one point need a link maybe to scoring chart Help!

I don't think you will find a chart, all companies use their own methods of credit scoring and award different numbers of points for different things.

The best thing to do would be to get a credit score from Experian ~ they are the main company lenders go to for credit checks.


Experian will send you your credit score sheet detailing debts paid/unpaid etc. You should then be able to see what you need to do.

The three main credit reference agencies in the UK are (in no particular order) Callcredit, Equifax and Experian.

Contact details for each are available here.

Bear in mind that credit scores change on a monthly basis - not only your own credit score but also the lenders criteria score.

Credit scoring is fairly complex and also very secretive. No company that I know of will actually tell you their own criteria or your score - as this will open up the door to potential fraud.
