Riddle Me This..

Sitting here today alone at my desk, I was doing some paperwork, I had a book of stamps on the desk to my left. I went to make a cup of tea and came back and carried on, I then needed the stamps and they were gone! I looked everywhere assuming I must have picked them up, I retraced my steps, searched the floor, turned the desk inside out, eventually I came back to my desk feeling defeated, and low and behold the stamps were on the desk, in full view, not hidden. I know that when I was searching I was extremely thorough and diligent and yet I could not find them so what happened to them?

These things happen.
When my daughter was young years ago, she had a friend round who wanted a cup of tea. She went into kitchen to look for the teapot. And could not find it so went back into living room. Came back into kitchen and there it was in middle of the worktop. She screamed!

Nothing happened to them you just did not see them, it happens to me all the time, glasses, pens , you name it. My old Mum used to call it 'not seeing it for looking at it'.

Things are always harder to find when they are hidden in full view

It happens to me in supermarkets . I search and search for something .convinced they've stopped selling it, and when I ask someone where it is its usually in front of me.

This was different to that eddie, I can understand the theory of not being able to find things that are under your nose, this was weird because the desk on that side is empty except my cup and the stamps, when I was looking for them there was only my cup, I looked all around the floor next to the desk, under my cup, it wasnt there at all. when I came back in after retracing my steps and sat down, the stamps were next to my cup!

no, seems a bit strange for a ghost to go out of their way to pester me for the afternoon :/

Nothing happened to them - you just didn't "see" them - I've had this happen occasionally myself.

yesterday I was looking for a form I needed to fill in.I knew where it was but I could not see it there. Looked again a few mins later and there it was exactly where I had looked and not seen it. I put it down to a 'senior moment' as well, getting a lot of them recently!

its got nothing to do with age. I think we all experience temporary blindness. or have a ghost following us with a strange sense of humour.
