as above really - I am sure many of you know what I mean.

aside from berocca, caffiene and gurana chewing gum, any ideas?

even just little tips - like splashing with cold water etc - i met someone who says they pinch themselves in the morning as it stimulates them and brings them into the day quickly.
I often put my radio alarm clock on loud and distorted so that it jolts me awake (which is horrible) and the distortion makes it hard to fall back asleep or just listen to the music - i have to get up and turn it off.

I also pogo down my hall for a minute to the the blood going - if i can force myself to do it

Any help greatly appreciated.

If it's THAT bad, perhaps you should see a doctor...?

I could give you a list of excuses for being late for work!

As purpose says if it is a problem see a doctor, there are so many things that can cause this problem - including depression. You have nothing to lose.

I had to give up work (at 40) due to bipolar disorder and although I still get up early(ish) I wander around like a zombie for hours. I have to get up early due to a cat that thinks he will starve to death if a meal is delayed.

Taking a cold shower might do the trick (I've never tried it but then I don't have much trouble getting up in the morn).

i've seen the doc, i have various health issues that are undoubtedly the cause of this, but as they are the sort of things that can't be cured, I am looking to treat the side effects at this point

cheers

Dear joko. Good luck with it all. I admire your positive spirit, you sound like an ace guy/gal. I laughed out loud when I read that you pogo down the hall! Out of all the bizarre suggestions you could get on here I think you already have the most weird!! That would make me laugh too. Hope you don't have neighbours beneath you. Perhaps you enjoy making yourself smile and reminding yourself what it was like to be a child. I think that's a really good sign. And to leave the psycho babble for a moment. How about looking forward to a good brekkie?
Have you tried just going to bed a couple of hours earlier the night before?
good luck i use the cat form of alarm clock, she insists that i get up (usually 10 mins before the alarm is due to go off) and tries various forms of persusion, the most effective being the cat claw head massage, never fails that one, then its straight in the shower and this sounds harsh but it does work, after washing hair/body etc in normal temperatures put the shower onto cold for as long as you can stand it, i go for about 2 mins I promise you'll be awake after that!
mccfluff - is the cat still attached to your head when you have your shower? Don't think my little angel would like that - must try it tomorrow.

thanks all.

i often can't even gather the energy to make breakfast - unless i am especially hungry.

I will just sit and stare into space for about an hour before i can do anything constructive and even then its an effort.

i have a crap trickley shower so that wouldn't work.

perhaps i should stick my finger in a socket...lol

I know that feeling, joko. Do you feel like you are completely hollow and your legs just feel so heavy you feel rooted to the spot? I used to watch my father in that state and it wasn't until I experienced depression myself that I could talk to him about it. You do sound like you have an ace sense of humor in there though...desperate to get out! Have you thought about seeing a homeopath? only you said you have several issues and they believe that they are all connected.
