Roller Deby Name

Hey everyone

I have been doing roller derby for a few months and its time to register a derby name .. It's usually meant to be witty & funny and a pun of some sort etc but I am struggling so much to be 'witty' ! haha

If anyone could help out with some suggestions that wuld be awesome & if it could have anything linked to the below that would also be pretty cool !

Nickname - Flick
Love horror movies & superheroes


So -- something like Flick Fury (although cant have this as its too similar to someone elses) Killah Queen etc

There is a site you can google, The Roller Derby Name Generator, and i've just entered your AB user name and your sex and it has given you; Kim Firecracker, AKA 'The Bone Venger'. Don't ask! You could, of course, visit the site and use your real name to generate a more apt RD name:-)

Just done it with mine and, for some unfathomable reason, it's come up with; Gorilla Bibletrasher, AKA The Elbow Venger??? That's taking 'random'to the extreme.

'Flick Knife', on its own, seems a little too obvious to me. 'Flicknife' used as just one of the pair might be better.

Indeed, the 'Flick' part could be repeated, as with 'Flicknife HorrorFlix'. That way you get plenty of stress on your nickname and a reference to horror movies thrown in as well.

Alternatively you could go for a bit of alliteration, as with Flicknife Florrie - or even Flicknife Floozy!

Thanks for everyone's suggestions - turned out to quite fun when lots of friends also started coming up with names (although I still struggled!) We ended up coming away from using 'Flick' and have come up with either

Block Widow (Block being a position on the sport, and as I am a jammer - I need to get through them in any way I can!!!)

Suffer Kate (obi using my real name)

Which one do you prefer?

I LOVE Suffer Kate … but as getting outfits is part of the whole 'roller derby' culture - I can get more stuff in relation to 'Block/Black Widow' ….
