Oh, missed him.
I don't think so Tilly. For a time in my teens I got called tombo. But I left Stoke in 1968. Where in Stoke are you from?
Question Author
Brown Edge. Up in the moors.
I know it well. Up through Smallthorn and when you are out of breath you are there. Used to take a girl home from the Torch, smog, ice and freezing wind all the way back.
Question Author
Blimey, Togo. I hope you didn't walk it from Tunstall!
Not all the way tilly, sometimes we used to lie down. You cant beat a good parka.
Question Author
That's a long way to walk. No wonder you had to lie down!

Did you not have a scooter? Thought you had to have a scooter with a parka.
Tilly, through Burslem was the preferred route. My scooter "fell" in the canal at Longport, but my mate god rest him had a van and would drop me and company there when I asked nicely. A bag of chips from the van in the square and I could have strode to Leek.
Question Author
A bag of chips and a walk up to the moors. What more could a girl ask for?
Oh, the romance.

Sorry about your scooter. My 'then' boyfriend had one but I wouldn't ride pillion. He fell off it too many times. His didn't end up in the cut though, his Dad took it off him!

Bebbo, his name was. Why did we all have such daft names?
