If it removes those who were never true Labour but closet Liberals, can only be a good thing. Either one supports the aims of the party or one doesn't. Anyway time will tell if there is any truth in the story.

They obviously aren't Jezza's mob or they wouldn't be thinking of leaving.

If they were elected as Labour candidates, probably beating a LibDem in the process, they would find it difficult to change party without triggering a by-election.

I cannot imagine anyone who has just got 5 years job security, volunteering to put that in jeoperdy by facing the electorate again, particularly in the colours of a Party they had beat a couple of months ago. It would be political suicide.

The LibDems have only 8 MPs and a bit of a useless leader. Blairite Labour could quite easily take over the Party, but I doubt any of them would think that it is worth doing so.

Yes I know it is hard to imagine but even some Labour supporters have principles.

Well, if they change party and test those principles with the electorate at a by-election, everyone will be happy.

How many do you think will do that? My guess is none.

I doubt very much they will at the moment - I heard on Radio 5 last night the new back benchers are waiting for the return of Milliband Major to save the (possible) sinking ship
