If they were elected as Labour candidates, probably beating a LibDem in the process, they would find it difficult to change party without triggering a by-election.
I cannot imagine anyone who has just got 5 years job security, volunteering to put that in jeoperdy by facing the electorate again, particularly in the colours of a Party they had beat a couple of months ago. It would be political suicide.
The LibDems have only 8 MPs and a bit of a useless leader. Blairite Labour could quite easily take over the Party, but I doubt any of them would think that it is worth doing so.

Yes I know it is hard to imagine but even some Labour supporters have principles.
