My husband is recovering from the above operation but of course is now unable to have marital relations. I dont mind about that. However, he is getting pills from the doctor, Viagra and another one, to help with this problem. Does anyone have any advice to offer?

I think your husband should discuss this with the surgeon. When I had the op. I was told that I would be able to have satisfactory sex so long as I did not want to have children. That was many years ago, and I still don't have a problem, thanks be!
I don't have any advice as such,but I just wanted to say that I hope your husband gets well soon,and that it sounds as thought he has a very caring wife.All the best.x
Hiya Lyn, I am sure you will not be alone in this and possibly there will be a support group contactable thru the hospital, but well done to hubby for being positive, i have found this but it looks a little old now;

all the best for his recovery though, maybe a relaxing break away is in order

Hi ... i found the after-support for mens cancer to be very sparce.

These people can give some good advice ... http://www.cancerbackup.org.uk ...

I appreciate the surgeon may be very busy and, now his job is done, might not find a lot of time to talk.

I presume that your hubby will see a Radiologist for chemo/radiotherapy and I found them to have more information than the surgeons ... after all they specialise in cancer treatment, whereas the surgeon cuts cuts people up...
