Auto Brightness Keeps Switching Off

On my ipad mini. Every time I switch it up to full in settings and at bottom of screen. When I put close lid and open again it has gone back to zero. Battery is at 70 percent. Help please!

That's what is meant to happen if auto brightness in on.

Hc I switched ipad completely off and on again and fine now. Bright all the time. Thanks anyway.
