Manchester Thunder have signed the player with the best name in the SuperLeague ...

Natalie Haythornthwaite

Oh, yes!

A double result for Thunder because ...

(1) they have signed Natalie from Pennines rivals the Yorkshire Jets, and

(2) Natalie is the 2015 SuperLeague Player Of The Season.

And, obviously, because Thunder now have the player with the best name in the SuperLeague. It is simply impossible to say Natalie's name without sounding like you're auditioning for Last Of The Summer Wine.

JJ Have you never heard of the 'Wars of the Roses'? Yorkshire=white; Lancashire=Red. The famed Tudor rose was an implausible marriage of the two.

OK, It's a long time ago, but, believe me, the needle still exists. This is a Great Betrayal. We used to have Sale AC trying to poach our best young athletes from the W. Riding clubs in which I was involved. What's difficult about Haythornthwaite? (Although I agree that it's a good name.) You should try my maiden name (which I shan't tell you...)

Natalaie's second name is, however, Mud----------- and we don't forget!
