Hitachi Tv Power Save Mode

Hi. We have an Hitachi TV which is approximately 16 months old. My son thinks he has somehow turned the "power save" mode on and all we can now get is a nearly completely black screen and very faint sound. All the controls are on the screen (i.e. the only thing that the remote will do is to turn the TV on and off) so we can't get to see how to turn the brightness or the sound up. Does anyone know what to do please or how to reset it ? The model number is 32 HXC 01 U B.

Check your cables - could be a loose or bad scart connection.

If it has phono inputs (red, yellow and white sockets) try connecting something to it and change to its av channel.

Hi. Thanks Tuvok for the suggestion but that hasn't worked. We've managed to get the sound to increase, but still can't see the screen. Thanks for trying though :)
