It depends upon exactly what you want to copy & paste. (It might also depend upon where you want to do it. My instructions below relate to Windows-based computers. Android tablets, etc, might be different).

If, for example, you want to copy text from another website to a post here, go to the relevant website and drag your cursor across the relevant piece of text (while keeping your left mouse button held down). That will highlight the text. Then right-click on the highlighted text and select 'Copy'. Come to the AB post where you want to paste the text, right-click where you want the text to appear and click 'Paste'.

(Note: Pressing Ctrl and C together also tells your computer to copy selected text. Pressing Ctrl and V together tells it to paste it).

If you want to copy and paste a link here, you go the same way about it. i.e. go to the web page that you want to link to. Highlight the URL in your browser's address bar. (Right-clicking on it suffices). Then select 'Copy', come to an AB post, right-click and select 'Paste'.

If you want to copy and paste files from one folder to another on your computer, open a window showing the first folder, right-click on the relevant file and select 'Copy'. Then open a window showing the second folder, right-click inside it and select 'Paste'. (Note that you can select an entire block of files for copying, by clicking on the first one and then holding Shift down while clicking on the last one. To select lots of individual files at the same time, hold Ctrl down while clicking on them one by one).

Buenchico has said it all here. Copy and Paste is really dead simple, and when you have mastered it, you will wonder what you found difficult in the first place ! I always use a proper mouse, rather than a touch pad, which makes it much easier. Just keep practicing !
I agree with mikey4444- I detest trying to work without a mouse, especially for copy/paste operations. I think it's an age thing though- my kids never use a mouse
FF...I suspect its because we learned our computer skills on a desk top, instead of a laptop. I have a laptop and a 7 inch tablet but my preferred computer is still my trusty 8 year old Packard Bell desk top, combined with a 27 inch monitor....I would fit a 32 or 37 inch monitor if I had the room !
Of course, we are assuming the question is about the desktop. The majority of internet users now access it from a mobile device, and non of the answers explain C&P on a phone or tablet.
Maybe mikey4444- although I use a laptop mainly now and still need the mouse. I avoid using a tablet with no mouse where possiblle when i have to cut and paste and when i work at different locations I take my mouse with me just in case the employer has laptops without mice
Yeah, good idea FF. I use my small Acer Notebook in the caravan, but always with a mouse as well !
Highlight your left, click right mouse button and copy. Go to where you want the text pasted and right click mouse again and select paste
How coincidental; the OP and the last poster have identical avatars.
