More help with Samsung e350e!
I posted a message asking for help downloading music to my Samsung e350e, and a lovely, helpful person got me so far, but now I've come to a complete standstill. I've been trying to copy my CDs to my phone using Windows Media Player (I'm not bothered about buying music online), but it doesn't detect a plugin! I'm so infuriated 'cos I know it's plugged in correctly! Am I missing something? I got a disc with the USB cable, but don't really know what it's for. Do I need to do something with it? If so, what exactly? Do I need to download something from the Internet? Again, if so, what?
Can I just say that I'm absolutely clueless about 'these things', so any help anyone can offer would need to be explained in great detail! Thanks!
And, by the way, aren't phone help manuals absolutely no help whatsoever?! Grrrrr! It makes me so mad!

If it isnt detecting this 'plug in' you will need to insert the disk that came with the USB cable and follow the on screen instructions, this should set you up (you should only need to do this once).....let me know how you get on.......I will try help you as best I can.
Good luck,

Good suggestion, RQ, but it didn't work! I inserted the disk like you said, and a 'USB Driver' box popped up. I clicked it and there were loads of files including 'Win2K XP', 'Win98_ME' and 'Cable Driver'. I clicked the 'Cable Driver' one, and another box popped up, showing 'Install Driver' and the filename 'C:\USB_Data_Cable\'. I clicked 'Install', and after a few seconds 'Installation Successful' appeared on the screen. But when I tried Windows Media Player, it still didn't detect my player.
I've had a quick browse on the Windows Media website, and found something about an MP3 PowerEncoder download. It reads 'Add this plug-in to the player to rip music to your computer in MP3 format.' I don't want to just go ahead and download it when it might not be of any use, so let me know what you think.
Thanks!
OK, what version of windows do you have in the first instance...., do you have windows media player in your programmes on your machine ? If you are unsure how to locate this let me know :) I looked up your mobile on the internet to see if your samsung had bluetooth, but i dont see that it does. I have a samsung and it does have bluetooth and to download music I just use a bluetooth 'dongle' to transfer files across.....its really easy, honest, but dont panic, I will talk you through it as much as I am able.....
Keep me posted,
Okay, I've got Windows XP, and I'm almost positive it's the Professional version. Also, I do have Windows Media installed, but I always use Musicmatch Jukebox to play my CDs (installed because my sister has an MP3 player already). I tried using this to copy CDs to my phone, but it's not compatible, or whatever. I've read other messages about downloading music, and something called a 'dongle' is mentioned, but I wouldn't have the first clue what one was!
HI, So sorry, have been away on business this week, so i looked our post up again to see where we had got to, if you have MSN messenger my address is [email protected].
Perhaps I could talk you through it that way may be easier, and my Bluetooth dongle is a Blekin one, comes with an installation disc, once installed you plug the wee thing into a spare USB port and away you go with downloads to a bluetooth compatible mobile. I am afraid I have never heard of musicmatch jukebox, I am used to alway using Windows Media player, to store downloads and transfer/copy to CD/mp3.....
RQ :)
