Forgive me for posting this in Chatterbox rather than TV and Media, but I wanted to reach the widest audience.

"Cider with Rosie" tonight at 20:30 on BBC One is as good as any TV drama gets ! Absolutely ruddy marvelous ! I am still stunned by it !

The next time the Beeb is discussed on AB, remember this........any TV channel that can produce drama of such quality and sheer quality, is worth the world !

Sorry but I am still on cloud Nine !

Tilley: "I loved it. Timothy Spall's narration/accent was excellent.
Rosie has always been a heroine of mine.".

Loved Spall, loved Rosie then and now.

For those who haven't read it, the joy of the book is not just its wonderful evocation of adolescence in that rural setting and at that time, but Lee's beautiful prose. It became an English Literature set book a few years after I read it, but I doubt that something of such quality has survived the war against standards of the last four decades.

set bookway it was written. TV and film can't

Note to self: sack sub-editor.
Just seen it.....NICE, NICE, and very slow, not a patch on Dr Foster.
