There are quite a few companies that do this, you may find them on ebay, findit.co.uk or by doing a google search.
There is shipping, import tax and VAT. Then the car/van will have to undergo a sva test.
I believe the price is around �1000 for shipping

Autocar magazine recently featured an article on the new Mustang they imported from USA. Might be worth looking at their website for good practical advice on what the vehicle will need to pass SVA test for UK, (such as amber indicators, sidelights - apparently most American cars don't have sidelights, just headlights ! etc). Think Kev is right when he quotes �1000 for shipping. What are you thinking of buying ?

The freight charges will be comparitively cheap, 1000 UKP at the very most, the real stinger will be the import duty and VAT.

The of course you have all the UK road testing bits as well.

 

Unless the car is an absoulte diamond or you have money to burn, its an expensive business!

This is a question I’ve often wondered about. I used to think that it would cost thousands and of dollars, but that’s not really true. It has a lot to with the size of the car and where the car/vehicle is going.

To ship a compact car from the U.S. to Europe the average cost is around $750.00 USD. To ship an SUV to Europe could cost you around $2,000.00 USD. Shipping a standard-sized car from the U.S. to Australia will cost about $3,000.00.

If your car is an average-sized car, I would plan for $1,000.00 and hope it only costs $750.00, that way you won’t be surprised if it does cost a bit more than the quoted average cost, but since you’re looking at shipping a camper van, you should expect to pay around $2,000.00 or possibly more.
