Syria: Air Duel Between SU-30 Russian Sukhoi SM and Israeli F-15
"EXCLUSIVE-Strategika 51: Six Russian multirole fighter Sukhoi SU-30 SM type have put to flight Israeli fighters type McDonnell Douglas F-15 off the Syrian coast.
Israeli aircraft flying for months Syrian airspace and especially Naval Air Station Latakia bridgehead of Russian forces in Syria. Israeli aircraft generally follow a fairly complex flight plan and approach Latakia from the sea.
In the night of 1 to 2 October 2015, six Russian Sukhoi SU-30 took off from SM Syrian airbase Hmimim towards Cyprus before intercepting position attack four Israeli F-15 fighters.
Surprised by a situation as unexpected and probably not prepared for a dogfight with one of the best Russian multirole fighter, Israeli pilots have quickly turned back to the south, flying at high speed Lebanon.
The Lebanese army has officially announced to Z 2313 (local time) that four "enemy aircraft" (Israeli) had crossed the Lebanese airspace.
This "incident" between Russian and Israeli warplanes struck stupor command of the Israeli Air Force, which held that a possible air battle between the Israeli F-15 and the Russian Su-30 would have led to the destruction of four Israeli aircraft. Israel has strongly protested to Moscow this incident but the Russians demanded an explanation for the presence of Israeli fighter planes full Syrian airspace. This incident indicates that the protection of Syrian airspace is now under the protection of the Russian air force. Causing gnashing of teeth in Washington.
The incident was ignored by the major news agencies but political and media relay of Israel in the United States, Europe and the Arab world will strengthen efforts to demonize Russian support to the Syrian government."

The US have done nothing about the build up of Islamic State because they were anti-Assad. If Russia can rid the world of IS, then they are doing everyone a favour. But Russia's motive is to prop up Assad. Meanwhile the American's are acting like headless chickens.
As for the intercepted jets, the Israelis violate neighbouring countries' airspace routinely, and the US and UN turn a blind eye. In this instance they had a shock, and fled. I suspect they will be more cautious next time.

Israel want Assad and his Russia bodyguard defeated, so they are not going to do anything to defeat Islamic State who have the same aim. If IS did take over Syria, they would be a lot easier for the Israelis to dominate than a country protected by Russia.
Also, the Iranians want to see the wahabbi IS army defeated because they pose a very real threat to other muslims in the neighbourhood. Which is the precise reason Israel wants IS to suceed.

Israel has bombed Damascus more than once during the war.
Meanwhile Russia claims to be fighting IS but of course is doing no such thing. There were even reliable reports their intelligence services had been facilitating the processing of likely home-based jihadis to go to fight with Syria presumably in the foolishly optimistic hope that they would be killed there
Turkey supports another of the jihadi groups presumably in the hope it will not allow the Kurds free rein to tackle IS who in turn are favoured by Qatar and Saudi Arabia because they are seen as a threat to Iran
All very hard to follow but a lot easier than the Gunter Grass ramblings (very good Zacs!) of the OP
One thing that's clear us that Russia's involvement makes it likely that IS will actually gain, not lose.

"why was isis filth not wiped from the earth years ago. "
Because it isn't that simple dieseld. If we could only get rid of "nasties" by swatting them like flies, but that isn't how it works. And now of course we have these horror show documentaries on TV exposing the evils of IS etc, and everyone gets very upset and lots of unrealistic things are demanded to get rid of them.

Sorry DD, life, the world and computer problems prevented my answering your question.
My faith or lack of it isn't relevant. The point is, how you interpret events depends on where you stand. So while people see ISIS as heroes, and martyrs, whoever 'deals' with them in the present day is setting up a difficult legacy for their own children's generation.
