The papers have been marked and the contestants who sent SAE have had there papers returned in the post yesterday.
All four winners are ABers, the first from Bimingham, second from Melksham ( although only four miles from me, have never met her ) and joint thirds from Aylesbury and Llandudno. The winners, apart from the Number One have been informed. Total raised for Breast Cancer 351 with the quiz so many thanks to you all.
Any one who did not send a SAE but wants to know where they went wrong send me an Email to
Just out of interest, to give you some idea of the quality of answers from ABers, the nearest non ABer came 17th.
Finally the organisers wish me to thank everyone that took part they are very pleased. Currently the Breast Cancer Awareness Charity which our club has adopted this year has raised just over 950 with about 8 months to run.
PS If the lady from Edgebaston whose mobile is not working reads this please E-mail me. Thanks.
Alan
No best answer has yet been selected by Big Al1st. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The quiz was a local quiz until some one on AB asked about quizzes. I got permission to post details on AB and people sent there money and address to the quiz organisers. I think I can safely assume that everyone, with one exception, was an Aber because the applications came from all over the country.
The one exception was a local Aber who came over to our club to pick up the quiz. I know her AB name because she told me.
You are allowed to post your e-mail address on AB which I did and received requests by E-mail from the people who did not send SAE for answers. I have even spoken to the winners by telephone.
With the one exception pointed out above I have no idea which Aber is which, and unless they wish to tell me I dont want to know.
To recap, this was originally a local quiz, and when advertised on AB I think it is a correct assumption that people who live 100s of miles away must be Abers.
Hope this satisfies what ever fears you may have
