registry error

Everytimr I start my pc, i get an error saying ive got a registry error, it then prompts me to restart, upon which registry checker, uses the last backed up registry. Everything works Ok..i think, but this happens everytime I start my pc, can this be fixed?

Does it say the error code and what OS are you running
If I were a betting man I would say Windows 98. Have you tried over-installing the operating system? Just run the setup from the Windows 98 CD and install it to the same location (C:/windows not C:/windows.000). BTW, you can also over-install Windows 2000 and XP.
