Dodgy Email From.......myself? What The Funicular?

Hey, just trawling through my emails when I saw one that said BECOME A TESTER FOR LATEST ORAL B PRODUCTS and it was from my own email?

I obviously didn't send this and I'm pretty sure I can smell the familiar sizzling frying of spam n scam but how was this done?

It is simple to make an email look like it came from any address the sender likes, this is done by modifying the email header.

In this case the sender made it look like it came from the address that it was being sent to. That being your address.

I had an email from my own ebay shop today telling me to look at the huge bargains I have on offer and the supplied link did in fact link to my shopfront -the email originated from China so apart from giving my shop free exposure I could not see the point of it.

Well it depends on whether your email provider allows you to do it really, most don't I don't think.

Alternatively the below works although it's totally up to you if you choose to use - the email went straight to my junk folder though.
