On AnswerBank we read many posts criticising our police officers etc.

But we hear very little praises for them, ever though when they don their uniforms and go out to work on our behalf, that day could be their last, as in this very sad case.

If ever a photograph made one sad, it has got to be this one of a once happy family.

My condolences go out to the beautiful family he has sadly left behind and may PC David Phillips rest in peace.

i'm pleasantly surprised that there's been mo repeat of the mantra often seen on this site when something happens to a serving police officer in the course of their duty:-

I'm not sure there are any 'mantras' - and I am not sure what you mean by that phrase - ?

Each incident was discussed at the time as a relevant news topic - what makes you think there was any 'mantra' going on?
