Now the boyfriend has accused Doc of burning him with a cigarette when she "evicted" him, the money was offered to get the allegation withdrawn as she has been suspended from work because of the allegation, amongst other things.

Maybe you missed a whole episode. I must admit I didn't recognise him at first- I think he was portrayed as a rough, rough looking bloke in the earlier episode whereas he looked quite mild mannered witha smarter appearance on this week's episode

She told him that she would ruin his reputation if he didn't leave and he wouldn't be employable due to his medical history that she knew about, drugs i think.
