Charging mobile phones

If I am going away for a month and want to keep my phone switched on so that i can see who has phoned me, would it be safe to leave it plugged in (Charging) for the whole time? Unless the caller...

Recording onto dvd

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to hook up a video recorder to one of the new dvd recorders and transfer old vhs video material onto a dvd. If so how?Is it just by using scart cables or what.?
