Renault Megane boot lid won't stay up.

The boot lid on my (53 reg) Renault Megane won't stay up. There's a hissing noise coming from the right arm and boot lid suddenly drops. any ideas?

Blocked pipe

My bathroom basin pipe is blocked. Have removed s-bend and trap. pipe seems to be blocked just below floor. It's full of water and when I push small bendy wire pipe rod down, it hits something hard...
