Transferring e-books between PC and iPad

If I have downloaded an e-book from my local library to my PC is it possible to transfer it to my iPad and if so how. The library blurb statyes it can be switced between devices.

Transfer movie to IPOD touch

I have downloaded a movie on to my computers hard drive (not through itunes). How do i copy this to my ipod or to a disc ? Is there a simple way.
