My father has just died and I'm a benficiary. I suspect fincancial abuse by the attorneys who had control of his money as he was mentally incapable. What can I do?

I ported my mortgage with the Bristol and West and because there was a gap of 2 weeks between ending and starting the new mortgage I was charged ?890 penalty fee. Do you think this was unfair?
