Can USB sticks be fixed?

My USB stick/pen drive has broken. It's a standard pen drive and contains very important coursework, I'm completely devastated and obviously extremely angry with myself that I didn't have any back up...

I want to wipe my computer...

...but I don't want to get rid of my iTunes music/videos etc. Obviously this is because I've paid for downloads and have thousands of songs. Is there any way of avoiding deleting my iTunes library?
