Is meat from butchers more regulated than supermarkets? Food programmes always recommend buying meat from a local butcher than supermarkets. I cannot imagine there would be a difference in regulation...

Salmon is (from my memory) currently £9.70 kg at asda at the moment cheapest I have seen it for a while. Though you could get 2 pieces for £4.00 which equates to about £19 a kg....
