movie on stick

I have been given a whale in africa on a stick transferred it to my pc, made a copy and it has gone slow and distorted any ideas why.

Dvds

I bought some philips dvd R -minus burned some pics to the disc, they play fine on my pc, went to view them on my dvd recorder on television and they wont play it comes up with text of what they are...
