growning vegetables

over the weekend, we have cleared an area at the bottom of our garden for a veg patch. Haven't got a clue what, how, when to plant veg for the winter. Any advice very gratefully received Hilary

Bacon Joint

Picked up a cheap bacon joint and hope to "braise" it with say leeks, carrotts etc. Would this work and how much liquid should I put in? Also how long to cook it for. Open to other options.

Spanish Supermarkets

Does anyone know how Spanish supermarkets would be equivalent to English ones, e.g. which would be like a Sainsburys and which would be like an Asda in terms of price, etc.?
