Interior heating?

I have a Peugeot 309 Trio, Diesel. I have checked the water level, which is OK. The temperature gauge shows OK. But I'm getting no heat in the car. Suggestions please?

can a head gasket be re used or does it have to be replaced everytime the head gasket is taken off and checked? and aslo can a cars engine steam from just gunk alone or would there always have to be...
