My computer takes forever to switch of in the normal mode and have found a proggrame called quick shutdown and I find that most times I have to use that to shutdown. Any ideas please...............

it keeps updating software much more regularly than it used to and its getting annoying when it starts in middle of night, previously it only updated for 2 Min's a day, why?

A friend has been messing around with my computer and has obviously altered some settings. The text on my screen is extremly small. I'm not computer literate so can some one tell me how to get it back...
I note that there is a USB port at the back of the Sky + box. Is it possible to transfer recorded programs to my laptop's hard drive? If it is possible, could you let me have the procedure involved....
