installing free computer disc

I bought a copy pf Computer Shopper in order to get the free disc - QuarkXPress 5 - but am having great difficulty installing it. I've almost certainly done something wrong already but can't undo it....

I'm told that it takes a lot of current to start up a fluorescent tube. I have one in the kitchen and wonder whether it makes sense to switch it off or leave it on for - say - a couple of hours.
