Rugs slide about

Just had new carpet fitted in my flat. All my rugs move about when walked on. How can I stop this happening ?

We are about to buy two rugs for our lounge. The choice for the ffibres seems to be either wool or man made fibres such as polypropylene.Can anyone out there advise which material is better for wear...
