problem with petrol strimmer, keeps cutting out, need advice please

i bought it second hand last week, it usually goes for 10 mins then cuts out, ive only put petrol in and no 2 stroke oil , maybe it needs 2 stroke oil ? it also gets very warm , what could it be ?...
