Struggling With Christmas / Birthday Gifts

I Am Trying To Copy Files To A Usb Stick. They Get So Far Then It Stios Saying The File Is Corrupted. So I Started Again And All Well For A Bit.

Then it hung up again. The PC then says device not recognised or similar and the drive has dissapeared. Rebooting did not help. 
I returned the dive for a refund and bought another from elsewhere... ...
