why not the same channels on freesat as freeview?

I get freesat on a sky system but cannot understand why there are listed channels that are free to view on freeview but not on satelite where a subscription would have to be paid! I have asked Sky but...

length of ads vs length of programme.

What is it with the commercial breaks? At 'peak' viewing times the commercials are on for longer than the programme! I noted recently that after only 5 minutes of programme we were subjected to 7...
