Hp Envy 4527. Changing The Colour Cartridge

Colour cartridge.. Coming up as Low, but I only use the black cartridge.  Will the black still work if I don't replace the colour cartridge?  Thanks all.

Freezer Very Cold

An under counter freezer has been set on No 1 when we moved in.  Seems very very cold, ice cream hard to separate...  is this the coldest number ??
