£1400 for a new boiler?

I've just been told by my plumber that my boiler is crap and needs replacing. At the moment i have a Alpha Ocean 240e which is about 14 years old and he's recommended a Ferroli 31 condensing boiler...

I have done everything & triple checked it all. registered and got an avatar with gravatar. gone to my profile & ticked the avatar box. and still diddly squat!! NO AVATAR Wots occuring here?...
