Capturing part of a dvd

does anyone know how I can capture sections from a dvd film, not the whole film but a desired section. Any software that can do something like this? Thanks

PSP Battery life.....

I have now been convinced by my fellow abers to get a PSP. Gonna rip dvd's to the memory card (1gb). How long does the battery last for? 2, 3 4 hrs?
