dvd-rw problems

hi,all was going well with my recording to dvd-rw on my pc. I have now purchased some verbatim dvd-rw 4x certified blank discs (never used this make before) my pc will not recognise them,it freezes....

Has anyone figured out weather it is in fact more economical to use rechargeable batteries rather than the normal ones..i.e charging costs and initial outlay??

Latest bug going round

I had a really bad cold 3 weeks ago and it floored me bigtime,got anti biotics off doc,but even now i have a sore throat,anyone else had this bug,as i cant seem to shake it.
